Autonomics Nervous System drugs Flashcards
(20 cards)
This is works thru small electronical impulses.
Nervous System
What are the 2 nervous system under efferent.
- Antonomic nervous system
- Somatic nervous system
The 3 major function of Autonomic Nervous System.
- Regulates heart rate
- Regulation secutory glands
- Regulation smooth muscle
This is a nervous system that shorter preganglion but long postganglion.
Sympathetic Nervous System
This is a nervous system that longer preganglion and the postganglion is near in effector organ.
Parasympathetic Nervous System
What is acetylchlolinesterase?
It enzymes that breakdown your acytylcholine before reaching organcells
What cholinergic terminal nerve ending do?
It can synthesis, store, and release acetylcholine
What are the 2 types of receptor?
Nicotinic and Muscarinic
An act through receptors by binding to receptors to initiate a response or prevent a response
Receptor Theory
What is Antagonist?
Drugs that blocks a response
What are the adrenegic that works only in sympathetic nervous system?
Adrenergic agonist and Adrenergic antagonist
What is adrenergic agonist?
It mimics the effect of your sympathetic nervous system
What is cholinergic agonist?
It mimics the effect of parasympathetic nervous system
What is cholinergic antagonist?
It’s block or inhibit the function effect of parasympathetic nervous system that call parasympatholytic
It is a drug that give in patient have anaphylactic shock.
Epinephrine drug
A side effect of adrenergic agonists
Tachycardia, palpitations, tremors, dizziness, and increased blood pressure
A nursing process for Catecholamines
Monitor ECG, BP, U/O, and F&E
Parasympathetic nervous system effect for adrenergic blocker.
Dizziness, Orthostatic hypotension. Headache, and nasal congestion
What is Orthostatic hypotension?
A decrease of 20 mm Hg or more in SBP, a decrease of 10 mm Hg or more in DBP
What happen if patient have MG
It will stop his/her breathing.
