What is an ecosystem?
It is made up of all the living organism and physical conditions in an area
What is a community?
All the living organisms in an area
What is population?
The number of organisms of a species living in an area
What are producers?
Organisms that make their own food by photosynthesis
What are consumers?
Organisms that have to eat other organisms to gain energy
What are decomposers?
A special group of consumers that gain their energy by feeding in dead or decaying material
What is biomass?
The mass of living material that is present
What is a food chain?
It displays what an organism eats. The arrow show the transfer of biomass (therefore energy transfer). Each step in the food chain is a trophic level
What is a trophic level?
The position of an organism in a food chain, food web or pyramid

It shows a lot of different food chains in one
