What is neurofibroma
Benign tumour that arise from nerve sheath.
NF 1 - Autosomal dominant
NF 2
What are the major three types of neurofibromas
Cutaneous
Spinal
Plexiform
Diagnostic criteria for NF 1
two or more of following
At least 6 cafe au lait macules >5mm diameter befire puberty
Six cafe au lait macules >15mm after puberty
Two or more neurofibromas of any type or one plexifor neurofibroma
Multiple freakles in axilla or inguinal regions
Bone abnormality involving eyesocket or arm/leg bones , optic glioma in brain
Two or more lisch nodules in eye
Parent ,sibling or child with NF 1
diagnostic criteria for NF 2
Schwannomas on both 8th craial nerve or a parent siblingnor child with NF 2 with one vestibular schawannoma in a person less than 30 years
Or any two of,
Meningioma
Glioma
Schawannoma
Juvenile cataracts
what is post TURP syndrome
Transurethral resection of protate done in BPH.
Fluid like gylcine is used to flush surgical area and keep the bladder clear during procedure.
Excess absorbtion of thus flyid cause post TURP syndrome.
Cause hyponatriemia, fluid overload , heamolysis
