Q

What were limitations of Bohr’s model?

A
  • did not account for other elements - only hydrogen
    -oversimplified
-uses 1 quantum number to describe the stable orbits

Q

Why couldn’t Bohr’s model be useful?

A

Only accounted for the single electron - could not explain the spectra of larger atoms (that made more e)

Q

What was the zeeman effect?

A

Basically, where the spectral lines split into finely separated lines, which Bohr did not adjust his model to account for this under an external magnetic field.
