DATA

VARIABLE
The set of all possible values of a variable.
POPULATION
A subgroup of a population
SAMPLE
Words or codes representing a class or category.
QUALITATIVE VARIABLE
Numbers representing an amount or count, answering questions like “how many” or “how much.”
QUANTITATIVE VARIABLE
Data that can be counted.
DISCRETE VARIABLE
Data that can assume all values between two specific values and can be measured.
CONTINUOUS VARIABLE
Data consists of names, labels, or categories.
NOMINAL LEVEL
Data that can be arranged in some order.
ORDINAL LEVEL
Similar to ordinal level, with the additional property of determining meaningful differences between data
INTERVAL LEVEL
An interval level modified to include an inherent zero starting point, possessing a meaningful absolute fixed zero point.
