H. Musab bin Umair was targeted as he was the Alam (flag bearer). He resembled the prophet a lot so Abdullah Bin Qama (the murderer) mistook that he killed the prophet and announced this in the battle field. Muslims courage squashed. Prophet called to them from a high place and they surrounded him in a ring formation for protection. H. Talha was badly injured so he became unconscious.
