Main discussion

A

Oxytocin, often referred to as the ‘trust hormone’ or ‘love hormone’, has a significant influence on human behavior and social interactions. Produced by the hypothalamus and released by the pituitary gland, oxytocin affects various aspects of behavior. Primarily associated with pro-social behaviors, oxytocin plays a crucial role in the formation and maintenance of social bonds, trust, and mother-infant attachment. It also regulates stress responses and contributes to the development of social cognition. The intricate relationship between oxytocin and behavior highlights its importance in shaping the social fabric of human interactions. These findings provide insights into the subtle ways in which hormones contribute to complex behavioral responses such as trust in economics.
