What is a bayonet charge?
A run across dangerous land with the aim of close-up fighting and claiming the enemy position
What is the space between two enemies called?
No mans land

What were some issues of trench warfare?
In ditches, trench foot, rats and lice, mud
What did propaganda encourage?
Patriotic enthusiasm
What were the injuries like?
amputation and facial injuries

Gas attacks in shells, guns, hand to hand combat
What was frowned upon?
Cowardice, if you didn’t fight
What happened to those who refused to fight?
treated extremely harshly by their communities and were given a white feather to show cowardice. They were called Conscientious Objectors and were also imprisoned and subjected to brutal treatment
