Tell me about yourself.
Good day mam/sir, I’m Erika Chelsi T. Santos, i’m 21 and I’m an undergraduate student taking up Bachelor of Science in Cosmetic Science at Centro Escolar University Manila.
A little background about myself is that I have always wanted to work in the cosmetic industry ever since I was in high school, and I am truly passionate about the field of science as well and these are mainly the reason why I’m taking up this course.
I’m simply the type of person who tends to give my 100% to the responsibilities that are given to me because i don’t want to do anything half-heartedly. I’m also very collaborative, willing to gather opionoms, and always eager to learn.
With that, I was able to graduate high school with honors and senior highschool with high honors in stem track w/high honors, and now i’m a a consistent dean’s lister in college. // throughout my college years, i am able to hone prominent skills related to the formulation, laboratory work, and research that I learned from my teachers and professors, hoping that I can apply them in a professional setting. As I learned more about the science behind skinvcare, cosmetics and the process of formulating them, my passion for this industry grew a lot more .
Overall, my achievements and experiences especially in college shaped me to become detail-oriented, be compliant with the deadlines, as well as to effectively communicate with my peers in order to achieve my desired goals and objectives.
What are your greatest strengths?
I can say that my greatest strengths are my my initiative, my social skills, and most importantly my eagerness to learn in any situation.
One instance where I can put my strengths into a picture is that I’m mostly a designated leader when it comes to group work or group tasks because of my ability to lead and how I can effectively communicate with people of different ages and I’m able to handle a variety of scenarios that tests my decision making skills//optional: I have experience being an vice president classroom officer as well.// and throughout that experience, I realized that I am decisive, careful, and dedicated to the responsibilities that are tasked to me.
What are your weaknesses
I consider “being too hard on myself” as one of my weaknesses. I sometimes belittle myself and put too much pressure whenever I fail or make a mistake. Therefore, what I do is i try to see situations into a bigger picture to understand that mistakes are part of learning and I just review my mistakes to see where I am lacking and improve on that area.
Example: For instance, when doing some school projects, and see the results didnt matched my expectations, i always beat myself up for it but now what im doing is to always review and evaluate my capabilities and do better next time.
Describe your ideal job/work environment.
My ideal job or work environment is somewhere I can grow and develop my skills in the workplace. I can also see myself working in a company that provides a good work-life balance because I think it’s an important aspect to look at since a good work-life balance can affect my performance at work.Lastly, It is also important for me that the company I am applying for has objectives and values that align with mine.
Define success. Define failure
For me, success is when I inspire the people around me with my passion and what I do and when I have fulfilled an objective that is more than just for myself. On the other hand, I define failure as room for improvement because when we fail, I have an opportunity to reflect on what went wrong and identify areas where I can improve. Ever since I have always believed that failure is a natural part of the learning process and often precedes success.
What motivates you to put forth your greatest effort?
What motivates me to put my greatest effort is my belief to always seek more. I always believed that what I have and where I am right now are still subject to improvement and that I should not settle for less

My ideal job or work environment is somewhere I can grow and develop my skills in the workplace. Tell me your work style
When it comes to my work style, I prefer to work within an established guidelines and rules since, as a chemistry student, I believe that rules help me ensure that I’m doing the right thing and ensure consistency in the workplace. When given a set of guidelines, I make sure to understand them thoroughly and follow them diligently.
What is your biggest achievements
My greatest achievement is definitely my academic achievements and being able to excel in a degree that I am passionate about. Graduating with honors since high school and being a consistent deans lister in college has helped me developed leadership skills, being initiative, and responsible to the tasks given to me and other skills related for this job and indusstry. Apart from that, I consider my Instagram work as a successful content creator to be one of my accomplishments.
Tell the time when you fail/made a big mistake or bad decision
I consider not participating in various school organizations right now in college to be one of my biggest mistakes as a student because I feel like I’m missing out on so many things and could’ve done a lot more if I had participated. But it’s kind of too late now. Therefore, to

bounce back from that mistake or regret, I remind myself that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to school life. I just put my focus on working towards my other goals and interests, as there are still numerous opportunities for personal growth and learning both inside and outside of school. For instance, I just give my 100% of my focus to my school works and learning more about the industry that I want to enter in the future through using my free time researching industry trends, attending webinars, and engaging in online communities related in this field of work.
What sets me apart from other applicants
What sets me apart from the other students applying in the company is aside from the skills that I have learned in my cosmetic science degree that are relevant to the responsibility for an internship in this company is my strong desire to contribute my passion, knowledge, and skills such as product formulation to this company and make a meaningful impact in the industry. But I also think that since these skills can be learned, I feel like what also sets me apart is what I do on the side which are my knowledge in digital marketing of cosmetic products, managing my own platform, and doing creative product photography. I think that there is an overlap between these skills since it’s part of the cosmetic industry, and it shows that I’m willing to dedicate my life in growing and learning in this field even in different areas.

My experience as a cosmetic chemistry student has equipped me with basic knowledge and understanding of research and product formulation, With that, I have a proven ability to do well in this role and in the tasks given to me which my resume demonstrates. I want to gain more practical experience in your company and further develop professional skills in the field of cosmetic manufacturing industry, and I am excited about the opportunity to bring my enthusiasm, skills, and commitment to this role. I have heard great things about Intelligent Skin Care, Inc from my acquaintances from the higher year about their OJT experience in this company and I also see this as a chance to grow and learn more about my field of study which is to gain more practical

In the next five years, I envision myself working at a leading cosmetic manufacturing company like yours, where I can gain valuable practical experience and further develop my professional skills in this industry. I also see myself taking on challenging roles, such as a product development specialist or a formulation chemist, where I can contribute to creating innovative and high-quality skincare and cosmetic products. I am eager to immerse myself in the entire manufacturing process, from research and development to production and quality control. I aim to become a recognized expert in cosmetic manufacturing, contributing to the growth and success of the company.
