Big Bang Flashcards

1
Q

explain the big bang

A

the big bang is how astronomers explain the beginning of the Universe. In simple words, the universe started from a singularity and then there was a bang, and all energy was created to matter which was created into our universe and etc. Our universe is still expanding

Q

how is the red-shift evidence for the expanding universe?

A

Red-shift is left by moving galaxies from years ago, due to radiowaves. This is because when an object is moving, the waves in front are shortened and the waves behind are stretched out compared to a stationary object where the waves are all evenly spaced out in all directions.

Q

how does CMB support the big bang

A

If the big bang, scientists theorised the universe should be full of CMB, it is like an afterglow of a huge explosion.
