Name the main parts of the female reproductive system
- ovaries
- fallopian tubes
- oviducts
- vagina
- uterus
How many ovaries are there, what is there shape, where are they found, what do they produce and how often.
- there are 2 ovaries
- they are oval shape
- they are found in the lower abdomen
- they produce eggs every 28 days or so
What does the Oviducts/ Fallopian tubes do?
- tubes that lead from each ovary, during ovulation a mature egg is released into the oviducts
- serve as a passageway for the egg to get from ovaries to uterus. They are lined with ciliated epithelial cells that beat back and forth to move the egg along the oviduct.

What is the vagina?
A muscular canal that extends from the uterus to the outside of the body
