A

Much like a quadrat. Measures the Number of species per area sampled

A

Like a transect, measures number of species per individual counted

8
Q

Hadley cell cycle

A

Movement of air between 0° and 30°N and 30°S
1) warm air expands and cools at the top
2) causes precipitation then cool air moves away from equator to surface
3) at surface the air absorbs moisture causing dry regions
4) moves back to equator to repeat process

16
Q

Rain shadow effect

A

Air rises to move over mountains, rains on windward (front) side leaving the leeward (back) side very dry.
(Winds usually come from oceans)

17
Q

How does global climate effect biodiversity?

A

Where it rains most usually has more green areas, trees, other plants and animals. Dry areas have mostly desert plant communities
