What is the biological approach ?
Everything psychological is at first biological - to fully understand human behaviour we have to look at biological structures and processes
What do biological psychologists believe ?
The genes an individual possesses influences their behaviour (evolution)
How do twin studies help the biological approach ?
Used to determine the likelihood that certain traits have a genetic basis by comparing concordance rates between pairs of twins
^ term used in statistics and to describe rate of probibility that 2 people with shared genes will develop the same organic disease
What is the genotype ?
particular set of genes a person possesses
What is a phenotype ?
characteristics of an individual determined by both genes and the evironment
What is the evaluation for the biological approach ?
