abnormal cell division during mitosis can create tumors which leads to cancer developement

What is a tissue
A group of similar cells
What is an organ
Many different types of tissues working together
What is circulatory, digestive, and respitory system
C= transports blood, nutriets, and oxygen
D= Breaks down food and absorbs the nutrients
R= transports oxygen and removes carbon dioxide
What does interphase do
Cell grows, replicates DNA, and prepares for division
What does prophase do
Chromosomes condense, nuclear membrane breaks down, spindle fibres also form
What does metaphase do
spindle fibres attatch and chromosomes line up
What does anaphase do
Centromeres and spindle fibres shorten
What does telophase do
chromosomes reach opposite ends and the nuclear membrane forms
What does cytokenisis do
splits into 2 daughter cells
What are stem cells and why do they differentiate
They are similar cells that devolop into different types and they differentiate to get spcialized to preform a specific function

Meristems

demal, vascular, and ground

What do Xylem and Phloem do
Xylem= transports water and minerals from the roots to the rest of the plant
Phloem= transports nutrients and sugars that are produced by photosynthesis from the leaves to the other parts of the plant
Where does plants gas exhange happen
In the stomata (tiny parts on leaves)
Where does human gas exchange happen
alveoli (tiny air sacs in lungs)

Ultrasound machine= uses sound waves to create images inside the body (organs, fetus, and heart)

Iregular and round, lacks a cell wall, does not perform photosynthesis, smaller ad more vacuoles if they have, centrioles are involved in cell division, more speicalized for mobility and interaction with environment and digestion

Rectangular, Rigid cell wall, contains chloroplast for photosynthesis, large central vacuole that stores everything, lacks centrioles and does not perform mitosis, specialized for processes like photosuntehesis and water storage
