definition of adaptation:
The action of change by which an organism or species become better suited to its enviroment.
Definition of function:
The actions that the cells perform.
Compare a light and electron microscope for;
1. Resolution
2. Magnification
Electron microscopes have a resolution ability of 1000000x and a resolving power of 250x
Light microscopes can magnify 1000x and have a resolution of 200 nanometers.
Similarities between plant and animal cells
They both have a nucleus, cytoplasm, mitochondria and a cell membrane.
Definiton of mitochondria:
Where aerobic respiration occurs.
Definiton of Ribosomes:
The site of proteinsynthesis.
Definiton of Cell wall:
a rigid, external layer that is specifically designed to provide structural support and rigidity.
Definiton of Chloroplasts:
Produces energy through photosynthesis.
Definiton of Vacuole
A membrane-bound cell organelle.
