Q

How does having one disease cause more diseases?

A
  • Damage to the immune system – if the immune system is affected by a disease
it is easier for other pathogens to cause disease
  • Diseases make the immune system weaker – when a person has a disease,
the body’s natural barriers and defenses are weaker so other pathogens can
    attack more easily
  • A disease damages or stops an organ system from working, so other diseases
    are more likely to occur
