Q

The Cardiac Muscle Tissue -Involuntary and Striated

A

(They look like stripes in between the cells.) Intercalated disks are junctions between the cardiac muscle cells. These disks connect the cells and allows for movement of electrical current between cardiac muscle cells. It allows the heart to beat in a coordinated fashion.

Q

Skeletal Muscle Tissue - Voluntary and Striated

A

(The skeletal muscle tissue is the long pink bands with stripes, you can see multiple nuclei in it) The function of this muscle is to produce voluntary movement through the contraction of the muscle cells. It provides postural support. (Nuclei look like black ovals) The function of the nuclei store genetic information and act as the cell’s control center.
