Biology Quiz (Mitosis & other) Flashcards
(6 cards)
Explain the process of Interphase
During the Interphase a cell grows, duplicates DNA, and gets ready for cell division.
Explain the process of Prophase
During the Prophase, a cell thickens, condense, and spindle fibers begin to form.
Explain the process of Metaphase
During the Metaphase, chromosomes begin to line up in the middle of the cell.
Explain the process of Anaphase
During the Anaphase, the spindle fibers attach to centromeres and pull away chromatids to bring to the opposite sides of the cell.
Explain the Process of Telophase
During the Telophase, the separated chromosomes reach the opposite pulls of the cell. Nuclear membrane reforms around the chromosomes so the new nuclear membrane push inward.
Explain the Process of Cytokinesis
During the Telophase, the cytoplasm of the cell is divided into 2 daughter cells.
