What are the 6 major biomes?
Tundra, Taiga, Temperate Deciduous Forest, Grasslands, Tropical Rainforest, Desert
What is the Tundra like?
Cold and dry; long winters, less than 25cm of precipitation, temperatures range from -35c to 5c
What is the Taiga like?
Seasonal; boreal forest, winters are long and cold, 25-100cm of precipitation, temperatures range from -15c to 15c
What is the Temperate Deciduous Forest like?
Not too hot or cold; four distinct seasons, 75-100cm of precipitation, -5c to 20c
What is the Grassland like?
Similar to TDF, 25- 75cm of precipitation, -5c to 20c
What is the Tropical Rainforest like?
Greatest diversity; constant temperatures (25c), rains nearly every day, most precipitation
What is the Desert like?
Hot and dry; driest biome, less than 25cm of precipitation, 15c to 35c
Who adapts?
Individuals don’t adapt, populations adapt
