Eutrophication
The process where a body of water's ecosystem is destroyed due to an algal bloom which occurs when a spike of nutrients appears in the water. The algae blocks the sun from entering the water body which prevents photosynthesis from happening beneath the water. The algae prevents diffusion from occurring and kills off most organisms. The increase of decaying matter produces lots of bacteria which use all the leftover O2 for decomposition and gives off lots of CO2
