What is a biome?
A large region of earth that has a certain climate and certain types of living things
What is biodiversity?
The variety of life in a particular area or biome.
What is biosphere?
the regions of the surface and atmosphere of the earth occupied by living organisms.
What is hydrosphere?
All the waters on the earth’s surface such as lakes, seas and sometimes even clouds
What is lithosphere?
The rigid outer part of the earth, consisting of the crust and upper mantle
Atmosphere meaning
The mixture of gases surrounding the earth
Deforestation meaning
The cutting down of trees and other plant life in a forest
Fauna meaning
The animals of a particular region or habitat
Flora meaning
the plants of a particular region or habitat
Grassland meaning
A biome of wide open spaces where vegetation is dominated by grasses.
Tundra meaning
A biome characterised by having vast, treeless environment across the artic region of Asia, Europe and North America
Temperate forest meaning
A large forest biome that experiences a range of seasonal climate conditions
Wetlands meaning
Land consisting of marshes or swamps
Aquatic meaning
(Of a plant or animal) living or growing in or near water
Desert meaning
A dry region of the earth with little vegetation or rainfall and experiences extreme temperatures
Prairie meaning
A biome of wide open spaces where vegetation is dominated by grasses; sometimes referred to as grassland or savana

The process of making an area more urban

A word used to describe land that is suitable for growing crops

The ongoing capacity of earth to maintain all life
