Q

A protein has 4 different structures, which?

A
  1. Primary - amino acid monomers are joined, forming peptide bonds
  2. Secondary - polypeptide chains may form alfa helix or beta pleated sheets, hydrogen bonds
  3. Tertiary - polypeptides fold, forming specific shapes, hydrogen bonds, disulphide bonds, hydrophobic bonds
  4. Quaternary - two or more polypeptides assemble to form larger protein molecules, hydrogen bonds, disulphide bonds, hydrophobic bonds, ionic interactions
