What are hereditary (nature) factors?
physical traits, personality, intelligence
What are environmental (nurture) factors?
family, culture, education
What is the evolutionary perspective?
It looks at how natural selection causes certain behaviors for survival and reproduction
What are eugenics?
A (very bad) practice to arrange reproduction in a way that will genetically modify the human population with certain “ideal” characteristics
How do twin studies help study nature vs. nurture?
Their similar DNA will help compare traits influenced by genetic or environmental factors.
How do family studies help study nature vs. nurture?
Tracking traits across generations and finding patterns help study hereditary factors.
How do adoption studies help study nature vs. nurture?
Adopted children can be compared to both biological and adoptive families to study environmental factors.
Draw a quick chart of the nervous systems.

peripheral -> autonomic + somatic
autonomic -> sympathetic + parasympathetic
