A

Instead of rejoicing in finding another human the artillery man initially tries to send him away claiming the land as his own , British empire and power hungry. Showing humans turn against each other, he is highly territorial and focuses on himself

A

Social Darwinism, which involves humans taking advantage of selective breeding and natural selection. Shows wells doesn’t support this as the narrator leaves

He is sitting relaxing drinking and wants hardworking people, juxtaposing what he wants. His eager attitude to save humanity is due to vanity not will and devotion
