Explain the procedures outlined in NATOPS for engine start, operation, and shutdown

A

Before starting an engine, the wheels of aircraft shall be chocked and parking brake set

Intake screens shall be installed

Intake and surrounding deck shall be inspected and eliminated for FOD

When engine is started by non-pilot personnel the plane shall be tied down

Whenever engine is started, personnel with adequate fire extinguishing should be in the immediate vicinity but clear of intakes and props.
