A

To carry oxygen from the lungs to all body cells.

How are red blood cells adapted for their function?

A
  1. They have a bioconcave shape which gives them a large surface area for absorbing oxygen.
  2. They don’t have a nucleus so they can carry more oxygen.
  3. Have lots of haemoglobin.
