What is anaemia?
A
A reduction in haemoglobin in the blood from the normal values for that population

What is aplastic anaemia?
A
Bone marrow cannot produce new red blood cells

What is sickle cell anaemia?
A
Inherited blood disorder that causes production of unusual shaped red blood cells

What is microcytic anaemia?
A
Smaller RBC, caused by iron deficiency and thalassemia

What is macrocytic anaemia?
A
Larger RBC, caused by vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency

What is normocytic anaemia?
A
Normal RBC but a reduced total amount of haemoglobin in the blood caused by bleeding
