Q

What was the procedure of the experimental group?

A

They were all greeted in the lobby by a Dutch experimenter.
They were informed that they wanted to conduct another experiment and gave them a fake story.
He told them they were waiting for ethical approval.
They were then asked to write a letter to support the study.
They were then left in a room to decide whether or not they wanted to write the letter.
They were then taken to a room with a computer, they could either write the letter or whistleblow.
After 7 minutes they were told what was actually happening.
