What are the 4 types of bones?
Long bones, short bones, flat bones and irregular bones
What are the funtions of the skeletal system?
Movement, mineral storage, protect vital organs, production of red blood cells, maintain shape and to support
Bones that make up the shoulder joint:
Collar bone, scapula, humerus
Bones that make up the ankle joint:
Talus, fibula and tibia
Bones that make up the hip joint:
Pelvis, femur
Bones that make up the knee joint:
Femur, tibia and patella
What is a synovial joint?
Designed to allow movement and prevent injury where two joints meet
What is a ligament?
Attaches bone to bone
What is a tendon?
Attaches muscle to bone
What bones make up the elbow joint?
Humerus, radius and ulna
