Named for Meredith Basil Hayden Sr, who was the master distiller of Jim Beam when George Washington was president. Low proof, high rye bourbon, great for those new to whiskey. Used to be 8 years, now NAS (but estimated around 6 years). Lightest member of the Jim Beam Small Batch Collection.

This is the third release in the limited Basil Hayden rye line. A blend of a 5 year old Ky straight rye, a 7 year old Ky straight rye, a 13 year old KY bourbon, and a 6 year old KY bourbon. No mashbill or percentage blend statement has been given.

The 2nd release in the limited Basil Hayden Rye line. A blend of Ky rye, Canadian rye (Alberta Distillery), and California port. Jim Beam has announced this will be the first ever permanent addition to the Basil Hayden family.
Very unique in adding port directly as opposed to finishing in a port barrel. Very approachable for novices. Very very sweet.

Charles Nelson, a German immigrant, opened a grocery store in the 1850’s selling coffee, meat, and bourbon. By 1885, they were the largest producer of whiskey in America. Shut down by prohibition, reopened by great great great grandsons Andy and Charlie Nelson in 2006.

Not as over oaked as most older 20+ year bourbons, which is nice, but rather weak (only 92 proof) for its age

It is generally assumed to be 9 years old. Originally crafted by Elmer T Lee and named for Colonel Blanton, the president of the distiller until 1952. Booker's started as bottles from barrels hand selected by Booker as holiday gifts, and was the first mass produced bottle straight from the barrel, uncut and unfiltered. Aged 6 to 8 years. Mashbill: 77% corn, 13% rye, 10% barley Nose- strong, alcoholic, floral, nutty Palate- sweet and hot, vanilla, raisin Finish- surprisingly light and long Very sippable for its proof, but definitely provide water for dropping

Palate- woody, caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, oranges, dusty
Finish- long, dusty, citrus

Batches from no more than 40 barrels aged on the middle floor of various warehouses. Meant to be a more robust KY straight bourbon. Nose- caramel, honey, vanilla Palate- brown sugar, vanilla, toffee Finish- medium length, oak, full flavored

Nose- corn, ethanol, anise Palate- corn, viscous mouthfeel Finish- peppery, allspice, licorice Best with lemonade.

No age statement (4 to 6 years), undisclosed mashbill. Brown Forman is the only major distillery with their own cooperages. Copper’s was released in tribute to their coopers, and is the first bourbon to be added to the lineup in 20 years. Uses beech and birchwood for their charcoal filtration process, and the coopers chisel out grooves in the white oak staves before charring to increase surface area.
Nose- smoky, corn, lots of honey, very light
Palate- very light and smooth. Lots of honey, orange, green pepper
Finish- dry and mellow, with leather and cinnamon
Not terribly complex and memorable, but light and easy sipping. Good whiskey for a hot day.

Copper pot distilled and aged a minimum of 4 years in bourbon barrels and oloroso sherry casks. Non chill filtered, no post distillation additives. Named for the floodwall in Lousiville, built in 1957.
Nose- toffee and vanilla, brown sugar
Palate- fiery, spicy, cinnamon, cayenne
Finish- sweet, baked apples, oak, smoky, oily
Fairly hot and best to let it open for a bit before sipping. Served best on a large rock with an expressed orange peel.

Dry spicy rum made for mixing. Corsair’s copper still was made in 1920 and holds only 240 gallons. Their products are currently all small batch.
