A

Formed through the monotropic attachment. It is a special mental schema for relationships and all the child’s future relationships will be based on this

What is monotropy

A

Infants form one very specific attachment with their mother. If the mother isn’t available they can bond with another present mother substitute

What is the critical period

A

Baby has to form an attachment with a caregiver in a critical period. This is up to 1 yr and if this doesn’t happen the child’s PIES are damaged for life
