Q

AO3

A

+ supporting evidence from research from 99 mothers in the strange situations where their child showed signs of poor insecure attachments and was found that the mothers would also have insecure attachments w their mothers so importance of critical period

-idea of monotropy is socially sensitive as it says mothers are key attachment figures and so therefore puts more pressure on them to delay return to work and stigmatised poor mothers

  • monotropy not evident in all kids as found in izjendorns studies
