TAKEOFF BRIEF

A

I will taxi on to the runway using all four engines. I may bring the inboards back to control speed. As we take the runway you clear right and I will clear left. AS I line up with centerline I’ll bring all four demand pointers to 50% N1, call “Four In The Range” when all engines are stable between 40-45% N1. I will push the throttles up to takeoff N1 then hand them to you to fine tune. Call “90kts”,”PICKLE”, “S1”, and “ROTATE”. I’ll rotate 8-9d nose high and call for gear up after we have a positive rate of climb. I’ll maintain Vco+10 until 2,000’ AGL then call for flaps up. I will call for climb power and after takeoff climb checklist while accelerating to 250 kts. At 2,000’ put both RGA switches to GYRO

APPROACH BRIEF

A

Crew this is a L/R seat_____appr to RY______. With a descent rate of _____ to our DH/MDA of _____ in the event of an unplanned go around ensure all throttles are advanced and check speed brakes @ 0d. Stabilized approach criteria will apply

Q

TOUCH AND GO BRIEF

A

Attention to brief. I will land in the first 3,000’ on centerline. If I get off centerline I will use the end of the runway to correct to centerline. If anyone sees an unsafe condition prior to touchdown call it out or call a go around. I will maintain crosswind controls and fly the nosewheel to the ground. Once the nosewheel touches down I will stand the throttles up. PNF, reset the flaps to 20d and about 1 unit nose up trim. Ensure all engines remain in flight ide, then tell me to “PUSH EM UP.” I will push the throttles to to approximately 80% then hand them to you to fine tune. Call “rotate” at Vref+gust. We will use the “PUSH EM UP” call for a Go/No Go

FULL STOP BRIEF

A

I will land in the first 3,000’ and fly the nosewheel down. I will get my own speed brakes. Back me up to ensure the throttles are all in idle and engines go to ground idle. Ensure the speed brakes deploy. Help me hold the control column forward and call out distance remaining and airspeed.

Engine Start Briefing

A

If there is a problem with the APU during start we will monitor the light and perform the checklist on E-28. We will use the normal engine start sequence of 3-4-1-2. Copilot will work the throttles and pilot will work the switches. Call positive N1 and oil Px. At 25% N2 or max motoring, place the throttle in start. Fuel flow should be less than 680. After ignition, monitor EGT to ensure 40% N2 prior to 600 EGT at 50% N2 place the throttle in idle.
