Q

Why did the Sepoy Rebellion happen?

A
  1. The British wanted to conquer more lands in India. This meant that the Sepoys were fighting against fellow Indians.
  2. A new rifle was invented and you had to bite the end off the cartridge which had beef and pork fat on. This upset both Muslims and Hindus.
  3. Taxes were incredibly high and people were hungry as well as not being paid enough.
