  2. ) the cause of suffering is the desire for things that are just illusions; such as riches, power, and long life

Theravada Buddhism

Most conservative school of Buddhism, tries to maintain historical tradition, says nirvana is only possible with monks, they WEAR ORANGE ROBES, monks beg for their food daily, stuppa (remains of Buddha and enlightened monks are in it)

“Big vehicle”, accommodates a wide variety of people, nirvana is possible for everyone, concept of karuna (compassion), the ideal person is a bodhisattva (enlightened being)
