Single engine 30 min rating: 100.3%
Normal range: 53% - 100.3%
Minimum speed: 53%
Oscillation: No greater than +/- 1% at steady
state
Idle: Approximately 56% +/- 3%
NF Speed Limitations
Overspeed limit range:
109.1% - 118.4% for 15 secs max
Max allowable Speed: 109.1%
Turbine Inlet Temperature Limits (T5)
Max transient during start:
949c for 2 seconds
2 1/2 min power:
758c (OEI)
MTOP and 30 min (OEI emergency power):
696c
MCP:
660c
Aural warning activates when T5 exceeds 707c +/- 3c
Engine oil temperature limits
Max temp:
121c
Min starting temp:
- 40c type 2 oil (common)
- 54c type 1 oil (uncommon)
Engine oil pressure Limitations
Max pressure: 60psi - 75psi
Normal pressure: 20psi - 60psi
Minimum at idle: 8psi - 25psi
Allowable pressure fluctuations in steady state conditions: +/- 3psi maximum
An oil relief valve in the filter will divert oil to the forward sump when pressure reaches
65 - 75psi to protect the engine from excessive oil pressures
No.1 & No.2 ENG OIL PRESS lights illuminate when pressure drops to 7 - 10psi
Engine starter and ignition system Limitations
Starter:
Continuous starter operation no more than 30 seconds.
No more than 3 starts in any 30 minute period
Ignition system:
(Other than with starter motor)
2 mins on - 3 mins off
2 mins on - 23 mins off
5 mins on - 55 mins off
Fuel Pressure Limitations
Max: 995psi
Precautionary: 795psi - 995psi
Normal: 210psi - 795psi
Minimum: 160psi
At what OAT must we use JP-4 fuel?
Minus 29 degrees Celsius or below limited to JP-4 only.
Transmission Torque Limitations (Multi Engine 100% RRPM)
MTOP: 76.5%
MCP: 70%
Transmission Torque Limitations
OEI 100% RRPM
10 second transient: 112%
2 1/2 min: 94%
30-min: 88%
MCP: 78.5%
Transmission Oil Temperature Limitations
Maximum – 110°C
Minimum – -12°C
Normal – -12°C to 100°C
Transmission Oil Pressure Limitations
Maximum – 85 PSIG
Minimum – 20 PSIG
Avoid rapid advancement of ECL during initial run-up to avoid XMSN oil pressures above 60 PSIG
(Can cause premature failure of XMSN seals)
What temperature are we not authorized to fly in visible moisture?
2 degrees Celsius in visible moisture (with inlet filters this is a hard limitation)
Density Altitude Limitations Transport Cat B
Takeoff - 12500 DA
Enroute - 13000 DA up to 19,000lbs
10000 DA above 19,000lbs - 20,000lbs
Landing - 12500’
Max OAT Limit
43.5 degrees
Max wind limits for rotor engagement
52kts and 15kt gust spread
Avoid winds from the 12 to 3 o’clock position
Power Off NR Limitations
Max: 113%
Normal up to 19k: 92-113%
Normal 19-20k: 100-113%
Transient minimum: 88%
When must engine anti-ice be used?
When OAT is 4c or less

Is the H/V diagram a limitation?
Yes, we must comply with the H/V diagram unless you meet the weight requirements of (Figure 1-3: Maximum Gross Weight for No Avoid Region, One Engine Inoperative, Takeoff Power, Fiberglass Rotor Blades) (Improved cat-b supplement)
