Configuration for Low Visibility Flying
Flaps : 20
Power : 1800 RPM ( approx )
Speed : 70 Knots
Normal Takeoff
Flaps : 0
Power : Full
Rotate : 55 Knots
Climb : 74 Knots
Short Field Takeoff
Flaps : 10
Apply Full Power with Brakes.
Confirm RPM is 2,300 - 2,400 RPM
Rotate : 51 Knots
Climb : 55 Knots
Retract Flaps : 60 Knots and positive climb rate
Short field take off briefing
Short field take-off (runway number)
* Runway is (surface) (slope) (condition)
* Wind is (direction) (strength) (conditions)
* Line up full length
* Check static RPM 2300 to 2400
* If acceleration is not positive by (feature) – abort
* Lift off at 51 knots
* Estimated lift off point (feature)
* If not airborne by (feature) – abort
* Climb at 56 knots to (altitude)
* Passing (altitude) transition to (best rate/angle)
– This to be once clear of immediate obstacles, ~200’ AGL
* Retract flap above 60 knots
