Q

A 90-year-old man usually takes 150 micrograms of digoxin daily to treat his atrial fibrillation. He has recently developed dysphagia and is finding swallowing tablets to be increasingly difficult. The formulation is changed to digoxin as a 0.005% oral solution.

How many ml of oral solution is required per day to deliver the equivalent dose?

A

0.005% oral solution = 5mg/100ml = 0.05mg/ml

Requires 150 micrograms = 0.15mg

Therefore 3ml
