what is capacitance?
A
charge stored per unit potential difference across the plates

how do polar molecules rotate in an electric field?
A
they rotate so that they are anti parallel. (positive end turns to negative plate

how do dialectics effect capacitance?
A
the polar molecules in the dielectric each produce their own electric field(which opposes the direction of that of the capacitor)
this reduces the electric field and reduces the potential difference needed to charge the capacitor so capacitance increases

what is permittivity?
A
measure of how difficult it is to generate an electric field in that material
