Q

Centrifugal vs Roller pumps?

A

Roller: Not Sensitive to Preload/Afterload, pulsatile Flow, RBC damage, Microscopic bubbles, Large quantities of air if air entrained in pump

Centrifugal: No pulsatile flow. Sensitive to preload/afterload. Will stop if too much entrained air
