What do cardiac glycosides do?
A
they decrease or have no effect on heart rate, no effect on blood pressure, and can possibly increase exercise capacity in patients with atrial fibrillation or heart failure.

Why would a cardiac glycoside be prescribed?
A
To increase cardiac output in cardiac patients. They increase the output force of the heart and decrease its rate of contractions.
