What is entresto? What are its indications?

A

Sacubitril/Valsartan (neprilysin inhibitor/ARB).
HFrEF (<40%): mortality benefit when replaced ACE-i. Also replaced ARB. Can start entresto instead of either when initiating therapy.

Common indications for ppm placement

A

symptomatic bradycardia without reversible cause
permanent atrial fibrillation with symptomatic bradycardia
alternating bundle branch block
complete heart block, high-degree atrioventricular (AV) block, or Mobitz type 2 second-degree AV block, irrespective of symptoms.

Phosphodiesterase inhibitor, antiplatelet and vasodilatory properties
