What does the thoracic duct originate from?
The chyle cistern
What does the thoracic duct drain?
Lymph from the LE, pelvis, abdomen, left half of thorax, LUE, left head/neck
Where does the thoracic duct empty?
Into the venous system near the junction of the left internal jugular vein and the left subclavian vein.
What does the subclavian trunk drain?
The upper extremity and axilla via the axillary lymphatic plexus
What does the jugular trunk drain?
cranial and cervical lymph nodes
What does the bronchomediastinal trunk drain?
parasternal, paratracheal, paraesophageal, superior phrenic, brachiocephalic LNs
What does the right lymphatic duct drain?
the subclavian lymphatic trunk and the bronchomediastinal trunk
Where does the right lymphatic trunk empty?
Into the right subclavian vein
