what movements provoke pain?
volar or wrist flexion
what is tinnel sign?
tingling or shock-like pain with volar wrist percussion
what is phalen sign?
pn or parethesia along median N when pt flex wrist (back of hands together) hold 1 min
carpal compression test
numbess and tingling with pressure over median N
is there sensory or motor delay first with carpal tunnel?
sensory conduction delay
treatment of carpal tunnel?
activity modification
volar splint (neutral position)
release surgery
when should carpal tunnel be referred?
if S&S for over 3 mo with conservative care
if atrophy of thenar develops
