The main bronchus, pulmonary arteries and veins, bronchial arteries and veins, nerves and lymphatics ENTER AND EXIT THE LUNG THROUGH THE HILUM of the lung (hilum of the lung is the root of the lung)

layer of sticky visceral pleura
(which is composed of squamous epithelium cells).
