What is nationalism and give an example
-having a strong identity related to the country you’re from
Scottish nationalists want Scotland to have greater political independence from UK.
What is regionalism and give an example.
Having a strong identity related to the region you’re from
French regionalists campaign for Savoie and Haute Savoie to come together as a larger political region within France

-can include things that you are born with (nationality, race) and things that are passed down (language, culture)

relates to many things that relate to how you live your life e.g. foods, clothing, traditions

when people from different cultures don’t fully understand or respect each other’s differences

whale meat is considered to be a traditional food delicacy in Japan - can cause conflict with people who are worried about whales becoming extinct because too many are being caught

what is ideology
a set of ideas about how society should be
-might include ideas about the form of government, economic system, education, health care and environment
how can ideology lead to conflict
groups of people with different ideologies can have different ideas that can result in conflicts
what is an example of ideology leading to conflict
governments of North Korea and South Korea have different ideologies, has led to long history of conflict. NK has authoritarian government (power held by few people) and a communist economic system. SK has a democratic government (several political elections) and a capitalist economic system.
