Q

How does bacteria cause disease?

A

When they invade the body, they cause disease by releasing toxins which damage body cells. they tend to be less specific than viruses in the tissues that they inhabit, which means a single species of bacterial can cause several different diseases depending where in the body it invades. Some bacterial are harmless while in one part of the body, but can cause death if they reach another.
