DM works faster, codeine needs to be metabolized
-codeine is prodrug for morphine

S/e of codeine and DM. Drug interactions

A

Codeine: nausea, constipation, dizzy, pruritis
DM: nausea, little s/e

Both interact with SSRIs
-DM put out all serotonin at once. causing serotonin syndrome
