(22 cards)
What is the job of the lungs?
They help you breathe
What is Mrs Nerg?
Movement Reproduction Sensitivity Nutrition Excretion Respiration Growth
What does the brain do?
The brain controls the body
What does the liver help you with?

Controls what goes in and out of the cell
Nucleus:
Controls what the cell does
Cytoplasm:
Were the cells activity happens
Mitochondria:
Where a plant gets energy from its food
Vacuole:
Storage space in plant cells
Cell wall:
To support the cell (structure)
Chloroplasts:
Contain the green pigment chlorophyll were the plant makes food using photosynthesis
Root hair cells have
A large surface area to allow more water and minerals to be absorbed from the soil.
Red blood cells
No nucleus allowing more volume to carry oxygen from the lungs to the cells.
What is a tissue and what it is made of ?
A tissue is a group of cells working together
What are organs made of?

How are some animal cells adapted to their function?
A ciliated epithelial cell has strands at the top that wave above to move things.
A muscle cell is able to change length.
What is cell division?
When one cell splits to make two new cells.
Recall the names of organs in the digestive, breathing and circulatory systems.
Digestive: oesophagus or gullet, stomach, small intestine, large intestine. Breathing: lungs, tubes leading from the lungs to the mouth and nose, various structures in the chest that allow air to move in and out of the lungs. Circulatory: The Heart. The Blood. The Blood Vessels.
