Cells - Biology Flashcards
(16 cards)
What are the three differences between Animal Cells and Plant Cells?
Cell Membrane, the Nucleus and cytoplasm!
What do you use in Science to look at Cells?
A microscope :)
What is the job of the Cell Membrane?
To control what substances go into and out of the Cell!
What is the job of the Nucleus?
To control what happens inside the Cell :)
What is the job of a Cell wall?
It is the the job of the cell wall is to give a plant cell its shape!
What do Plant Cells have that Animal Cells don’t?
Plant cells contain parts that arn’t found in animal cells such as: chloroplasts, vacuole, cell wall :)
What is the job of the cytoplasm?
a jelly-like substance, where chemical reactions happen. In plant cells there’s a thin lining, whereas in animal cells most of the cell is cytoplasm!
What is the job of Chloroplast?
Where photosynthesis happens – chloroplasts contain a green substance called chlorophyll :)
What is the job of a Red Blood Cell?
To carry oxygen!
What is the job of a Nerve Cell?
To carry nerve impulses to different parts of the body :)
What is the job of a Female reproductive cell (egg cell)
To join with male cell, and then to provide food for the new cell that’s been formed!
What is the job of a Male reproductive cell (sperm cell)?
To reach female cell, and join with it :)
What is the job of a Root hair cell?
To absorb water and minerals!
What is the job of a Leaf cell?
To absorb sunlight for photosynthesis :)
What type of Cell is usually an irregular shaped Cell?
An Animal Cell!
What type of Cell is usually regular shaped Cell (a Rectangle)?
A Plant Cell :)
